Finding Rest in My Savior

Do you ever feel like most of what you do is repetitive, thankless, and never done? I’m talking about the things we women do daily, like making the bed, preparing a meal, doing another sink full of dishes, putting in yet another load of laundry, and wiping that nose that never seems to stop running. These are the necessary tasks we, as women, are called to do; yet so often it seems that no one notices or cares. Oh, but there is One who does notice. Our wonderful God not only sees and notices, but also gives us the strength to keep pressing on. However, He also sees our hearts, our motives, and our attitudes. So if you find your energy lagging or find yourself grumbling inside, remember whom you belong to and why you are here. Any time you pray for or with others; make a phone call to encourage someone; send a text, email, or card to let someone know you’re praying for him or her; you are doing “kingdom work” that will last forever. What a privilege it is to be used by the King of glory for His purposes in encouraging and building up the body of Christ! In light of this call on our lives, consider the following verse:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Cor.15:58).
