Children's Ministry

Kim Allen - Childrens Director

The Children’s Ministry seeks to lead children into a personal relationship with Christ through clear and consistent teaching of the Gospel, training them to live under the authority of God’s Word and supporting parents in their role of bringing up their children in the fear of the Lord.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

The Children’s Ministry at CASM has four areas of focus, into which we can sum up all that we do in this ministry: education, equipping, evangelism, and encouragement.

Education

Education

Our goal through education is to continually implement a systematic approach of instruction that introduces our children to the foundational truths of Jesus Christ.

The two main avenues for education in the Children’s Ministry are Sunday morning Bible Study and Missions opportunities.

Equipping

Equipping

The equipping aspect of the Children’s Ministry focuses on the parents and the teachers.

We seek to equip parents through parenting workshops and information posted on this website, including our monthly parent newsletter.

The equipping of our teachers happens through Teacher’s Training classes as well as monthly meetings where teachers are instructed in the Word and encouraged through fellowship.

Evangelism

Evangelism

Evangelism must be a focus, since Jesus calls us to this task as Christians (Matt.28:19). In this area, our aim is to evangelize, disciple, and establish children in the Word of God to reach the world for Christ.

Our ongoing, initial evangelism opportunity is our annual Summer Splash. This is an opportunity for our children to reach out and invite their friends and neighbors to a kid-friendly event, with intentional evangelism as the motivator.

Expansion of our evangelism efforts include:

  • Children’s Christmas Musical
  • Vacation Bible School (proposed Summer 2012)
  • AWANA
Encouragement

Encouragement

This aspect of our ministry seeks to build relationships and serve as partners with parents in their child's spiritual development as well as spur on the teachers as they serve our children.

This encouragement fleshes itself out in the life of our ministry through:

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 6:4

Nursery (Birth - 2½)

Our nursery is located at our church campus. Our nursery serves during the Bible study and worship service on Sundays. Rooms are available in our nursery for nursing moms.

Check-in:

  • Write your child(ren)’s name(s) on our check-in sheet and initial that you are checking them in.
  • Fill out a nametag and allergy tag (if applicable) for your child(ren).
  • Leave any instructions you may have and your child(ren)’s diaper bag(s) with the nursery worker.
  • A nursery worker will assign and give you a pager if needed.
  • You will receive a check-in/check-out tag to keep in your possession until you pick up your child. Your child's safety is our number one priority. You will need to present this tag to pick up your child.
