A Word for Worriers

A Word For Worriers

Most people who are familiar with their Bibles know Philippians 4:6-7.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

But did you know that the issue behind anxiety is a lack of faith, and that a lack of faith is often married to self-confidence? Self-confidence says, “I can, I will, I must, and I shall,” but when we discover that we can’t—anxiety comes. God’s Word comes to us and declares…God is! (Cf. Heb.11:6)  God is able, God is aware, and God is available to meet you at the precise point of your need. Here is a word for you any time you face fear or worry—let your request be made known to the only One who is all-sufficient.

When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,
My grace, all-sufficient, shall be they supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

In doing so, we find rest for our souls and peace for our hearts and minds. And all God’s people said….AMEN!
