Activity #1

All in the Family

Mealtime Prayer: Thank God for all the members in your family. Thank Him also that you are a part of His family.

Appetizer: If you gave a party for all of your aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, what would it be like and what would you do?

Main Course: What does the word family mean? What are some of the benefits of being in a family? What are some of the responsibilities? How are the people in your family the same? How are they different?

God’s family is like yours in some ways. Who is in it? How does a person join up? How are the people in God’s family the same? How are they different?

Table Talk:

  • Why would you want to be part of God’s family? What responsibilities or “chores” does it have? What good things does it bring?
  • Why does God want people to join His family?
  • How can you help to get more people into God’s family?

Vitamins and Minerals: So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household” (Ephesians 2:19).

Father´s Day: Fabulous Fathers

Mealtime Prayer: Have each person tell Dad why he is fabulous. Thank God for your father while you pray.

Appetizer: Fabulous Father Bible Quiz:

Q: Who became a father when he was one hundred years old? (Answer: Abraham)
Q: Who gave his son a colorful coat? (Answer: Jacob)

Q: Who was King Solomon’s father? (Answer: David)

Q: Who was the father of John the Baptist? (Answer: Zechariah)

Main Course: Why are fathers important to a family? What does your father do for you each day to show that he loves you? How can you show your father that you love him and appreciate all that he does for you? Proverbs 23:22 says, “Listen to your father, who gave you life.” What does that mean?

Table Talk:

  • How can you bring joy to your father?
  • Why is it wise to listen to your father?
  • Why did God create fathers?
  • Tell your father you love him and why.

Vitamins and Minerals: “Grandchildren are the crown of old men, and the glory of sons is their fathers” (Proverbs 17:6).
